Homes and Accommodation
My passion for photographing architecture, interiors and homes stretches back a long way.
From working on architecture in Europe to small country cottages in Ireland and now New Zealand.
My approach is simple, each building and interior environment has it's own unique qualities. My role is to capture those in an authentic set of images that respect the feel and qualities of any given place.
I rarely use flash photography because it's all about natural light and the sense of what it's like to be really in that space. There is no formula and, for me, every set of pictures must reflect the character of an individual home. From a lovely modest Bach to grand large scale contemporary projects, each has it's own unique qualities.
"When it came to selling my home there was only ever going to be Pete Rees to photograph it. I bought my do up cottage from photo's taken by Pete 2 1/2 years ago and when it was renovated and time to move on Pete captured exactly what I was after. Not only showing the house to it's full potential in a real estate capacity but capturing the look of a magazine editorial I was after. Capturing the essence of the house so much so that it sold within 12 hours of going on the market." Michelle Gras, Owner
